ABOUT US

The Leeds University Union Society of Petroleum Engineers Leeds Chapter was formed in 2009 by a group of students who were inspired, eager and dedicated to go extra mile in learning about the Oil and Gas Industry. The original aim of the society was to bring together people with similar passion and to create some Industry connections. Since we were established we have grown in numbers and at the end of the last academic year we have over 60 members making us one of the largest Special Interest societies at the University.

In 2018 the society’s role have evolved according to our new motto: “Educating for The Community and The World.” Effectively coollaborating with University of Leeds School of Chemical and Process Engineering, School of Earth and Environment, other SPE student chapters in the UK and the Industry, we would like to enlighten the public and promote the positive changes within the Oil and Gas Industry that can have a long-lasting impact on the local communities.
